In 1996 Mike Peery was living at the Saint Francis Hotel in Hollywood and exhibiting his work out front.
While driving by the hotel, and older fellow saw the sculpture and stopped to talk to the artist.
For twenty years, the older man had envisioned having a monument built to Saint Francis.
This encouraged Mike to create the mighty stature.
